Daniel Pacheco Gutierrez is a Chemical and Software Engineer with a passion for designing, modelling, building, and testing. He is particularly interested in circular economy, automation, and optimization. With experience in CADing and programming in C#, Java, Python, and Matlab, he is proficient in any kind of engineering applications. Daniel's master thesis was about creating an IT pipeline to design primers for multi-template PCR. He has worked on several projects, including the development of Favo, an Android app that allows people to help each other. He also designed and built various Chem-E Cars, including a car powered by the heat exchanged between boiling water and icy water using thermoelectric modules. Currently, he is working on a soluble lead flow battery, which is a more sustainable alternative to the lead acid batteries used in cars. Currently working as a Software Engineer at Atinary Technologies Inc., Daniel has previously worked as a Software Engineer at Rem Analytics. He was also the Co-Captain of the McGill Chem-E Car team, where he led a team of ~40 students of multiple disciplines who engage in building a shoe-box sized car that works only with chemical reactions. The team placed 2nd out of 21 at the AICHE Northeastern Regionals Competition at Rochester, NY, which qualified them to the nationals competition in October, where they represented Canada. Daniel holds a Master's degree in Computational Science and Engineering from EPFL (École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne) and a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from McGill University. He is a Research Scientist with 3.19 years of relevant experience and is proficient in software engineering, testing, Python, Java, Android, and other technologies.
